Coordinator, Community Impact
POSITION DESCRIPTION
The Coordinator, Community Impact will serve an integral role on the Community Impact Team by providing administrative support for grantmaking, student aid, and the Foundation's strategic initiatives, which include The Women's Fund of Winston-Salem (WF), Black Philanthropy Initiative (BPI), and Youth Grantmakers in Action (YGA). The Coordinator, Community Impact is a non-exempt position and reports to the Vice President, Community Impact.

DESCRIPTION OF RESPONSIBILITIES
All staff work together to live out the Foundation's mission, values, and equity commitment. Each person actively participates in education sessions, work groups, and other formal and informal opportunities to learn about and operationalize our shared commitment to equity. This role supports the Community Impact Team and contributes to the broader Foundation team culture.
Strategic Initiatives Support (estimated 80%)
- Work closely with the Director and Officer of Strategic Initiatives to support initiative-led projects, grant cycles, and committee operations. Responsibilities include anticipating planning needs, coordinating logistics, scheduling meetings, ordering meals, managing communications, and preparing materials.
- Assist with planning and executing initiative-hosted gatherings (e.g., engagement events, fundraisers, community conversations), including invitations, RSVPs, sponsorship tracking, vendor coordination, and on-site logistics.
- Maintain organized systems for volunteer engagement, donor communication, and grant reporting.
- Serve as a responsive point of contact for initiative donors and members, assisting with questions related to giving, membership, and event participation.
- Contribute to a collaborative and adaptive team culture by offering input, raising needs proactively, and seeking to improve internal processes in support of mission-aligned work.
General Support (estimated 20%)
In addition to supporting strategic initiatives, this role also provides the following support to the Community Impact Team:
- Coordinate logistics for events and meetings, including managing invitations and RSVPs, coordinating sponsorships, venues, catering, and audio-visual support.
- Support scholarship programs by providing logistical assistance.
- Prepare surveys and reports to collect and present relative data for grantmaking, donors, initiative members, and other stakeholders.
- Collaborate with the Grants and Learning Specialist to facilitate data sharing and support grants process management.
- Maintain inventory of print materials and oversee ordering, distribution, and storage.
- Assist the Community Impact Team with general administrative and operational tasks.
- Identify, recommend, and implement process improvements to enhance internal systems and workflows.
Other Related Activities
- Actively participate as a member of the Community Impact Team and attend regular meetings.
- Participate in Foundation’s regular staff meetings and collaborate on cross-team projects that advance shared goals.
- Other assignments and special projects as capacity allows.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Demonstrated ability to take initiative and drive projects to completion, balancing multiple priorities effectively.
- Experience in managing change initiatives and helping teams adapt to new processes or organizational shifts.
- Ability to motivate and guide team members to maintain momentum and achieve project goals.
- Proven experience with Office 365 tools, including SharePoint, OneDrive, and Planner.
- Strong collaboration and relationship-building skills, with experience working across teams to support shared goals.

- Excellent organizational and time management skills, attention to detail, and follow-through.
- Clear and effective written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to synthesize and present information concisely.

HYBRID WORK SCHEDULE
The Foundation offers a hybrid schedule where most staff are expected to work in person at least two to three days per week. Due to the nature of this role, the Coordinator, Community Impact, is expected to work on-site a minimum of four days per week, with the option for remote work on the fifth. Our office is in downtown Winston-Salem.
SALARY AND BENEFITS
The salary for this position is $50,000. In alignment with our Compensation Philosophy and Process, we set starting salaries with great care and consistency—looking both at the role itself and how it fits within the organization as a whole. Because of this intentional approach, we do not engage in salary negotiations. While annual increases are dependent on available resources, we plan for them each year as part of our budgeting process and see them as an important part of supporting staff growth and long-term retention.
Benefits include generous paid time off (PTO) and holidays, along with a 10% salary contribution by the Foundation to your retirement plan after one year of service. Health, dental, and life insurance, as well as short-term and long-term disability coverage and parental leave, begin on the first of the month following 30 days of employment. Additional optional benefits include a flexible benefits plan, various supplemental insurance options, an employee supplemental retirement plan, a charitable match program, and tuition and fee reimbursement.
