Join us for the State of Education presented by Bank of America, where we are honored to offer the opportunity to meet and hear from Bonita J. Brown, the new Chancellor of Winston-Salem State University! Brown was elected as WSSU's chancellor following a search process by the UNC Board of Governors, campus and community feedback.

Bonita Brown assumes her role as an integral leader in Winston-Salem's education ecosystem. She will focus on fostering continued success at WSSU - an institution recognized as one of the top HBCU's in the nation and a leader in generating economic and social mobility. We will hear from Brown about her vision for the university and WSSU's role in Winston-Salem's growth. 

Brown is a seasoned university leader and attorney. She has held senior leadership positions across public higher education, including Chief of Staff, Chief Strategy Officer, General Counsel, and Interim President. Returning to Winston-Salem State University is a homecoming for Brown, who was born in Winston-Salem to parents who are WSSU alumni. Click here to learn more about Bonita Brown.
