Employer Lunch & Learn: Winston-Salem Non-Discrimination Ordinances

Tuesday, September 10, 2024 (11:30 AM - 1:00 PM) (EDT)

Description

Non-Discrimination Ordinances (NDOs) are increasingly common in many cities across the United States, including Winston-Salem. The Winston-Salem NDOs are ordinances that aim to prevent discrimination in places of public accommodation* and places of employment. These ordinances are a part of a larger effort to promote inclusivity, ensure equitable treatment for members of our community, and build diverse talent pipelines. Join us for an employer lunch and learn on September 10th from 11:30am-1pm to learn more about NDOs from the City of Winston-Salem’s Human Relations/Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Department. Employers will be able to ask questions about who is covered by the ordinances, learn about complaint processes and procedures, and receive free training for your company. Businesses who attend this training will become members of the NDOs Decal Program and will receive a decal for public display, a certificate of completion, and an online listing in the City’s NDOs Decal Program Business Directory. *A place of public accommodation is any place whose goods or services are available to the public, including stores, restaurants, hotels, gyms, theaters, stadiums, and more.
