About the Center for Cytocentric Technology (CCT)
Innovation Quarter is a vibrant, mixed-use innovation district in downtown Winston-Salem, North Carolina, and a powerful example of place-based transformation. Anchored by Wake Forest University School of Medicine, the district has evolved over more than two decades from a historic manufacturing center into a globally recognized hub for medical education, digital health, biomedical science and regenerative medicine research. Today, Innovation Quarter is home to a dynamic ecosystem of nearly 2,000 students, more than 4,500 workers and 115 companies—ranging from startups and sole proprietors to emerging and established enterprises—who together form a vital entrepreneurial community. By blending state-of-the-art research and academic facilities with residential, commercial and community amenities, Innovation Quarter fuels innovation, drives economic development and contributes meaningfully to the nation’s innovation culture.
CCT will accelerate cell and gene therapy development and strengthen regional partnerships across industry, academia, and government. It will also serve as an engine for workforce development, helping to train and equip the next generation of scientists, engineers, and biomanufacturing researchers.
This launch reflects a broader commitment to expanding access to transformative technologies and positioning the region to lead in regenerative medicine innovation.
