Join us as we celebrate the 2nd anniversary of Jim Shaw ACE Academy's Skybound Flight Festival with a ribbon cutting ceremony! We'll hear remarks from Alexandria Shaw, President, Jim Shaw ACE Academy; Cole Clark, Community Partner Liaison for Greater Winston-Salem Inc.'s Winston Under 40 Advisory Board; and local dignitaries. After the remarks and ribbon cutting, the Carver High School Marching Band will perform. This is an excellent opportunity to congratulate the Jim Shaw ACE Academy team. Stay and enjoy the festival!

The Skybound Flight Festival is a free community event designed to connect students, families, and aviation enthusiasts with the exciting worlds of aviation, STEM, technology, and career opportunities. Building on the success of last year’s festival, which welcomed more than 1,000 attendees, this year’s event will feature aircraft displays, hands-on STEM activities, local businesses and community organizations, live entertainment, and opportunities for attendees to discover careers right here in the Triad. 

Explore aircraft up close, meet pilots and aviation professionals, experience flight simulators, enjoy drone demonstrations. After 15 years of inspiring the next generation through aviation and STEM education, Jim Shaw ACE Academy is excited to bring the community together to celebrate opportunity, innovation, and the future of aviation in Winston-Salem.

About Jim Shaw ACE Academy
Founded in 2011 by renowned Winston Salem community leader, Jim Shaw, Sr. The Aviation Career Education Academy (ACE) has been a beacon of support for young minds, particularly those from underrepresented communities. The Academy hosts two week-long summer camps, and monthly STEM club sessions for middle and high school students. The mission is to empower all students to soar beyond limits through immersive aviation education and hands-on learning. Learn more.
