Douglas Crater Field & Stadium\, a new multi-use field and stadium for RJ Reynolds High School (RJR) and Wiley Middle School\, which is expected to serve 2\,500 students. The dedication and ribbon cutting ceremony will begin at 6:30 p.m.\, just prior to the RJR vs. Atkins football game.About M. Douglas Crater Field & Stadium\nHome Field Advantage\, a nonprofit supporting the M. Douglas Crater Field & Stadium\, secured private funds for the project as part of a public-private partnership with Winston-Salem/Forsyth County Schools. The new on-campus athletic facility is named in honor of Coach M. Douglas Crater. Seventy years ago\, Doug Crater graduated from RJR\, where he played all sports. He was co-captain of the football team and was recognized as an All-City-County performer. Doug served four years in the US Navy and attended Appalachian State University on a football and academic scholarship\, receiving both a bachelor's and master's degree.
