Join us for the 2026 Intern Experience Kickoff! This welcoming and engaging event is designed to connect college interns spending their summer in our community. This experience will introduce interns to local leaders, networking opportunities, and the many organizations and experiences that make Winston-Salem a great place to live, work, and grow a career. Complimentary professional headshots will be offered at the kickoff event. 

The kickoff will feature Christy Cox Spencer, President of JKS Incorporated! Christy was born and raised in Winston-Salem, NC and has continued to make the city her home. She is the President and majority owner of JKS Incorporated. She is also a serial entrepreneur and the proprietor of Robert Hall, a private event space in Winston-Salem’s Industry Hill neighborhood. Along with her husband, Will, she is active in revitalizing local historical buildings and operates The Huntley House, a five-bedroom Airbnb.  

Attendees will have the opportunity to meet fellow interns from a variety of industries, hear from community and business leaders, and gain valuable insight into professional development, leadership, and ways to make the most of their internship experience. Whether you are new to the area or already familiar with the community, this kickoff is a great way to build connections and start the summer strong.

We look forward to welcoming the next generation of talent and helping interns create meaningful relationships throughout their time here!
